I found a Mosin today that I'm having trouble identifying and I hope you can help.  I've already been on 7.62x54.net and it doesn't exactly match anything there.  It looks like a 91/30 with a very dark stock in very good condition.  There are wire sling loops on it like a Finn capture, but there is no SA or any other markings on the stock at all  The barrel is a 1930 with the arrow in triangle of Tula mark.  I believe it is a Finn capture and if so I would like to get it if the bore is good.  They have it marked for $278 and the tag says model 1930T  which is just the date and misinterpreted cyrillic character off the barrel.  That tells me they don't know what it is either. Anybody have an idea what this is?

ETA:  Forgot to mention it has a hex receiver and curved rear sight.

It sounds like it might be a little overpriced if it's an unrefurbished 91/30, even if it was a finn capture. If you post pictures it might help with the ID. To me it sounds like a Dragoon if the rear sight is the curved style, and if it is a Dragoon the price is a little more realistic, as long as the numbers all match. The arrow in the triangle is Izhevsk not Tula. What is the overall length and is it the blade or globe sight?

I meant arrow in star, not triangle.  don't know why I typed that.  The more I research the more I think it might be a dragoon with wire hangers added.  The thing that throws me is that there are absolutely no markings visible except on the barrel and serial numbers.  It's not numbers matching and I believe it's overpriced just because of the store it's in.  I think I can get them down but if I go in there and start taking pictures they will be less likely to deal.  None of the markings were likely to show up anyway unless i chalked them.  I'll probably stop by ther and look at it again after doing more research.  The next time i ask to look at it I'll need to decide if i want it or not.

Not unreasonable for a mis-matched Dragoon. $278 for a matching Dragoon would be a score.

Not all Finns got the [SA] stamp, Could also be a rifle imported from Spain ( SCW Rifle ).

Buy it, talk them down if you can.... you won't lose $ on it if you ever resell it.

If the wire slings are simple bent metal wire in the slots there is a good chance that it is a you have a Dragoon that is also a Spanish Civil War veteran.   One well traveled rifle with a ton of history behind it.  Is the front sight a blade type or post inside a globe like the 91/30's you see at all the gun shops?  Blade style would make it a dragoon as does the curved rear sight.

i saw the same thing up here about a year ago, had alot of hints that it may have been a finn capture or scw vet, but no definitive markings. however it was the same price as the rest of the mosins, 99.99. theres no way i would pay over 120 for a mosin that cant actually be pegged as being worth more at this time in the mosin market.

that said, i was informed while attempting to research it, that there were plenty of rifles out there that had been finn captures, and than had been recaptured before refit/marking was totally complete, and it may have been one of those.
