| I recently received my C&R. During the time i was waiting for my C&R i was ready to buy a Tokarev from J&G. Now I have my C&R and im ready to make my first order. The CZ-82's on J&G have suddenly caught my attention. My Question is this. Does anyone on here own both?... Which one do you prefer. which would you have ordered first? Any input is appreciated. I did do the checkout math on the tokarev and i can get a handpicked tokarev and a spam can of 1260 rounds delivered for $350.00....didn't do the math on the makrov. |

I have a Polish, and Romanian Tok, and a Yugo M57. Also a CZ82. All are a lot of fun to shoot. A couple things to consider. I think the CZ 82s being made now have new barrels with cut rifling rather than the polygonal rifling of the originals. Some say they aren't as accurate. Just a thought.
Take a look at the Yugo M57 Tokarevs at J&G sales. Longer grip than the T-33, and one more round in the mag. can't find TOK ammo like you could a few years ago....and AFAIK no one makes new production
If you check the web you will still find Polish, and some Romanian surplus very reasonable. Also new production is available from Seller & Bellot, Wolf, Prvi Partizan, Winchester, and Magsafe even makes frangable defense ammo in 7.62X25, Ammo Depot, Cheaper Than Dirt, Sportsman's Guide and Cabela's are just a few that list it. Also check on AmmoEngine.com. The big C&R Dealers like SOG, AIM, and J&G also still list it. 9X18 is also easy to find, and Hornady makes an XTP Hollow point round, and has announced a 9X18 Critical Defense round. The two Hornady loadings are rather hard to find for now. I have probably done more to confuse the OP than help. All I can say is get one of each. You will eventially anyway. LOL |

The tt-33 grip was too short for my taste, but I love the power. CZ82s are very accurate in my experience. If you decide you really want a tokarev, take a look at the Yugo M-57 pistols that wideners has... +1 on the Yugo Tokarev's from Wideners. Also, they have the best price on decent looking CZ-82's that you can find online. I bought mine from SOG when they had them on sale during the Christmas season. Buy both! I'd buy the 7.62x25 from J&G though over Wideners because J&G sells it by the can for $90 plus shipping. Wideners won't go below $6.50 a box (70rnds) i think, with no can sales. |

I have both the vz.82 and a Yugo M57.
The vz.82 is a much more modern pistol. It has the features we expect from such a pistol - high capacity magazine, ambidextrous controls, etc. It is also very accurate with its fixed barrel, though recoil can be a bit snappy with the standard springs. The vz.82 would make an excellent carry pistol if you were so inclined. Its only true downside is the weight; as it is an all-steel pistol it weighs quite a bit more than modern polymer pistols do. The M57 is historically interesting, and a very sweet-shooting pistol, but is an old design and it has not aged anywhere near as well as the M1911. Low capacity, SA only, added import safety. It's a fun plinker but that's all. Of the two, I prefer the vz.82. |

You can get the CZ82 from J&G in either the new barrel or the original barrel, so if you have a choice. you may also wanna check out Aimsurplus they carry the CZ from time to time they also have a few other really nice C&R guns |

LOL ..seriously....eff me...I almost got a fairly nice (VG condition) TT33 because it was a really good price (lets just say it was less than $150 and more than $90) but the only reason I didn't was because I thought ammo was scarce or would become unobtainable. |

There's just too many guns out there shooting it right now. Kind of like the $40./1K 8mm and .303 Brit. that was around just a few years ago. Surplus is always a finite thing and new production of an obsolete round will not be cheap either. |
