with the front sight post offset and me shooting to the right to most of you have the front sight moved over (in my case i have to see a gun smith because it wont move) or do you shoot with the bayonet on?

The Mosins were intended to be fired with bayo extended. Every M44 I have ever fired or seen fired shoots left with bayo folded. The 91/30's are similar but not always left. Soak the front sight in oil and give it a good whack (using proper tools of course). They are staked in place and quite heavily sometimes.

i find this interesting, at what range are you experincing the offset of impact,

i have 4 mosins, and with all of them i can hit a pop can at 100 with or without the bayonet, which leads me to assume they are shooting in the neighborhood of 3 to 4 moa either way.

they are all 91/30s

Never put a bayo on mine to shoot.  I have had to drift the sights a little bit.  My M44s all needed a slight adjustment for windage.  Of all my Mosins the only ones that were dead on when I got them were the Finns.

If you have a 91/30, you can use the front sight adjustment tool at this website:

I have one and they work great.  I'm not sure if it would be compatible with an M44.
