| I recently bought a Mannlicher Carcano at a pawn shop. How rare are these? Also I'm noticing the ammo is quite hard to find, any tips on finding some of this 6.5 x 52mm stuff. I paid 75 bucks for the gun and Its in great condition. Is this about average? Thanks ahead of time. |

For more historical and collector information, you might want to check out http://personal.stevens.edu/~gliberat/carcano/
I have one in 7.35 and about a hundred rounds in a brass looking bulk pack or machine gun clip loading doohickey, but I've never fired it. Last I heard the rifle was worth about $120, the ammo is worth more. But I tracked to the proof marks and it has the correct wood and everything (no bayonet though). If you got one with a modern hunting rifle type stock on it, or that's been drilled for scope mounts, that drops the value a lot. |

I will put some pictures up of it tomorrow. I live near Houston Tx. I still havent shot the gun yet but its in great shape, now just to buy some ammo. Theres a guy online by the name of Mr. Nambu that sells the ammo, for around 20 a box I believe, may look into him. Can't wait to see some pictures |
