I am seriously looking at the Garands at CMP, but I do not have an affiliated club near me.  Are there any other national clubs besides the Garand Collectors Club?  I have a C&R license and CCW so I have that part covered, just need the club affiliation.

Also check into local associations...here in NY if you are a member of NYSRPA(NY state rifle and pistol assoc.) you can also get CMP privileges as well.

Where are you in Ohio?  If in the Cleveland area, I can hook you up with a CMP-affiliated club pronto.  Not only will you fulfill the club requirement, but you can shoot there too.

There is also the M1 Collector's Club.  Newer club, $14 membership for a full year, e-news letter, full CMP affiliation.

Fast turn around and great customer service.  Can't go wrong for $14!

The Garand Collectors Association is pretty much the main clup to join for the CMP.  They automatically report membership to the CMP and the dues are $25/year.

Except you dont get what you pay for. Memebership runs Sept - Spet no matter when you join and you pay full price.
The www.m1collectorsclub.com  runs for a full year and is only $14.00 . They are a new club but caters to both the Garand and Carbine collector unlike the GCA. They to report membership to CMP
They do have a published newsletter

Also, there's no way to join online. You have to fill out the form, write a check, and snail mail it. They need to get with the times and offer on-line signups with CC payment... At least the M1CC has a GUNPAL account and online membership in the works...
