I found a Triple K magazine for my Model 1903 Colt but am

leery of Triple K magazines from past on-line horror stories.  Does

anybody have any experiences with these for the above mentioned Colt?  Any alternatives?
Original magazines seem to be nearly worth their weight in gold.

Every review of the triple k 1903 mag says they suck.  But I read that on the internet, SO if they are cheap, I'd buy one just to tinker with, see how it does, and if it doesn't work bust out the hammer and file and see if you can make it.

I bought two Triple K magazines from Brownells for my 1903.
After tinkering to no avail. I hammered them flat and sent them back.
No more Triple K junk for me.

Thanks fellows, guess I'll save my change and stay away from Triple K.

Numrich/Gun Parts Inc. has original magazines from time to time.
You have to call and specifically ask for an original magazine or they will send a Triple K.

Depending on quantity and quality of the magazine they will run somewhere between $50 and $75 each.HTH

Hold on there Pard .... I like you refused to pay an extortionist price and got two tripk mags for my 1908 hammerless Colt .380 . They are as good as the original yet I have both for half the price of an original . I will buy any of the mags for my model any day of the week .

Hell, you can find the whole GUN for 200-300 if it's in beat up shape.   Would probably be worth buying for spare parts as long as it's the same generation.

If your buying a beat up gun it wouldn't be in your interest to find correct magazines.
The buyer is concentrating on price and not condition.

My Luger uses one Triple K magazine. I believe you, Ruxpin, have fired it with that magazine.
Did it fall out of the gun? Did it disintegrate upon slamming into the mag well?

No. It did nothing of the sort. So far, quite a few years, it has functioned perfectly fine with no complaints.

What kind of name is "Ruxpin"? Sounds like something you'd rub on a horse's butt.

I wish my luck could be that good with the Triple K mags as it isn't just 1903 mags that have given trouble.
I have had very excellent results with Mec-Gar Luger magazines and I would buy 1903 mags from them if they ever get around to making them.
