be careful what you buy. too many frauds out there selling fake WW2 / repro stuff. id suggest only buying from people you know, rather than websites. ( i am talking about medals, helmets, etc, pretty hard to fake a rifle )

My only advice is buy lots and lots of books and educate yourself.

Anything and everything is reproduced now and someone is wanting to scam the unsuspected.

Things I will not buy anymore of, unless from well known dealers, are medals, helmets,  and patches.   That shit is so faked and people get scammed on it daily.

Are you thinking of firearms?  Here are a couple....

FGS

Simpson .

This place has interesting US military and foreign military mugs, cups, plates....

Pirates .

This place has tons of real surplus and repro stuff, but hard to see all they have, and the monthly ad in Shotgun News is worth checking for deals

Strand .

For example, I picked up some WWII USN coffee cups and supper plates from Strand Surplus on sale at about ¼ of the high price of the other place.  Have fun looking I hope....

Good start on your collection. be careful though, it can get out of hand. Here are few photos of some of my accumulations:

+10

Not only books on the collectibles themselves, but on the history of the conflict. If you aren't already a big reader, start with something accessible, like Rick Atkinson's excellent Liberation Trilogy (first title: An Army at Dawn)
