[ARCHIVED THREAD] - K31 Question

Just got my first K31 and have a question. When I close the bolt, the bolt face is hitting the magazine follower and not allowing the breech to be closed. Is this normal?

Yep. Normal. That's the rifle telling you its tummy is hungry.

Seriously? I figured one way to stop that from happening would be to load it, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot.

eta: Also, any one know what kind of stock I have? I read ones marked with an X on the butt plate were birch, but the walnut ones are a darkish red. The one I have is a darkish red with an X underneath the butt plate, so I'm at a loss.

just push down on the follower to close bolt with empty mag if you haven't figgerd it out yet

Have you pulled the buttplate to see if you have a tag under it?
