Can't believe it, but my 1903a3 has a feed problem.  It has been been 100% reliable up until this point.  What happens is after you load 5 rounds, and move the bolt forward to chamber the first round something is moving the next round below forward a small amount.  It puts the shoulder of the case right underneath the spot where the reciever narrows just a slight amount and it keeps it from popping up into the correct spot when you reopen the bolt.  I've tried several different types of ammo so it's not that.  I guess next I'll try a new magazine spring.  My main question is:

Does anybody make a "new" magazine spring for this rifle?  All the one's I've seen so far are new old stock, like 60 years old.  I fire this rifle in CMP competitions and it really sucks when you have a malfunction during rapid fire.

Check to see if the spring is not sliding forward at the bottom where it fits in the magazine well. If it slides forward then the follower at the top is too far forward.

I don't understand what you are saying.  Are you saying the magazine spring is installed incorrectly?
