Can't believe it, but my 1903a3 has a feed problem. It has been been 100% reliable up until this point. What happens is after you load 5 rounds, and move the bolt forward to chamber the first round something is moving the next round below forward a small amount. It puts the shoulder of the case right underneath the spot where the reciever narrows just a slight amount and it keeps it from popping up into the correct spot when you reopen the bolt. I've tried several different types of ammo so it's not that. I guess next I'll try a new magazine spring. My main question is: Does anybody make a "new" magazine spring for this rifle? All the one's I've seen so far are new old stock, like 60 years old. I fire this rifle in CMP competitions and it really sucks when you have a malfunction during rapid fire. |
I don't understand what you are saying. Are you saying the magazine spring is installed incorrectly? |
