[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about FR-8

Hey guys gotta question for you. I have recently purhcased a FR-8 and have a question.. The rifle is stamped FR-8 next to the serial number on the receiver, but it has a turned bolt handle instead of the straight bolt handle that seems to be prevelant on these rifles.. Any thing I should look for to make sure this is a FR-8? Also what commmercial ammo is closest to .308 NATO?.. Thank you.. lil

Either it's a replacement bolt, or someone bent the bolt handle. Does the bolt have a matching serial number? If so, it was probably bent. If not, most likely it's a replacement.

Don't cut your hand on the fucking front sight.

That is probably why the previous owner bent the bolt.

If you rotate that rear sight to the 200 aperture and sight the rifle in at 50 yards using the front sight you do not have to worry about cutting your hand on it.

Or at least not as much.

Which one would be the 200 yd app.?

There are two apertures to the right of the "buckhorns" and one to the left. The two on the right are the 200 and 300. The one on the left is 400.

The FR8 is strong enough to handle any surplus .308 NATO ammo.
