| I just received my CZ 82 and during inspection I noticed that it is a smooth bore pistol! Are all CZ 82s this way? It does not look corroded or worn out, it looks like it was never rifled to begin with. |

From AIM website.. ***Note on Polygonal Rifling! Please do not be alarmed if the bore of your CZ-82 pistol appears to be smooth. Polygonal Rifling replaces traditional lands and grooves with a rounded polygonal pattern that has a more "hills and valleys" appearance. Advantages to Polygonal Rifling include: Higher bullet velocities due to reduced friction from lesser surface area than traditional rifling. Reduced bullet deformation and drag for increased accuracy/range. Longer barrel life, and reduced buildup of copper or lead. |

Many people have this same thought; at least I know I did when I first looked down the barrel. Here is an explanation copied from AIMs web site: ***Note on Polygonal Rifling!
