I figure that most C&R guys probably have a lot of experience with different gun cleaning solvents so I thought I would see what you all think. As a C&R shooter, I am pretty accustomed to the usual ritual of cleaning my guns soon after shooting them. I normally use Hoppes No.9 and I think it works pretty well. The problem is, its really cold up here in the so I am not able to open any windows and vent the smell out which isn't so much a problem for me but the wife really gets on my case. Consequently, I haven't been able to do much gun cleaning and the dirty guns are starting to pile up. Anyone have a suggestions on a decent all purpose solvent that I can use to clean both the barrel and all the other parts that works as well as Hoppes without the wonderful smell? I tried the Hoppes "Elite" which is more of a bio degradable solvent but its like working with dish soap and makes a horrible mess and doesn't protect the metal.Turk |

After using water or windex to neutralize salts from corrosive ammo i usually use this if I don't want to stink up the place. |
