Do I have to put a C&R eligable rifle on my bound book if I bought it like a month before I got my C&R FFL?

thanks

Nope, only when you or if you "dispose" of the gun.  If you sell it, then you enter it into your book.

technically no, but I would list it in my book with a little * before the entry and add a footnote stating that it was purchased just days prior to your 03 FFL issue date. This way you cover your bases and reduces the chance that some rookie ATF agent thinks that you are trying to pull a fast one...
