alrighty so i was at a gun shop looking at some 303s. One cought my intrest, on the left hand side of the reciever it was stamped "US property". So how rare are american made 303s? It has perty bad blueing and the stock could stand some work. Just wondering if its a rare modle or what. Asking price is $150.

They're not very rare at all, you can actually get one in great condition from SOG for $170.  I picked one up from there and it was in wonderful condition, great wood and excellent blueing.

I bought one for my dad for his birthday. Pretty nice guns, but yea they're not rare at all. I picked mine up for only $130, but $150 isn't bad either.

If you've got a good source for .303 ammo, I'd definately say buy it.

Well i know the Enfields are great weapons, i was wopndering about the US Property stamp on this particular one. If theres no more collectability for being US made ill get the British one as it was in better shape.

I got the Savage made one from SOG for $169 and love it. The Brit one was $60 bucks cheaper, but it ain't made in America. My rifle was in very good condition.

Get one of each, that will solve the problem!  I have one of each, both are fine rifles.  The US stamp brings a little premium for some reason, not because they are rare though.  If you want a LE maybe look at getting a 2A in 7.62x51.  The NATO ammo is easier to come by than surplus .303.

Yeah, pleanty of US-marked Enfields out there.

I bought mine just because the price was excellent and I liked the idea of having a Brit rifle with "US PROPERTY" stamped on it. Don't knwo why, but I found that neat.

Really? Wow, where I got mine the British one was quite a bit more expensive than the Savage. That was half the reason I got this one!
