Ok, the CMP site states they're not taking any orders for 03's. So, I emailed them and asked about future 03's, etc, and the email I got back said I could call the North Store and ask if they had any left, that they put the 'We're out of 03's' sign up on the website to forestall any mail-orders. I haven't called yet, but I wanted to ask those with more experience at ordering from CMP a question, as I've only purchased two Garands from the North Store, and I drove up there, stayed the weekend at the Commodore Perry on the Lake Front, and went and picked those two rifles out by hand myself. So, without further adieu, here's my question: If I call and the guy on the phone says 'Yes, we have 50-60 03's sitting on racks right here in front of me', and I a) have a cmp cust#, b) still a member at the GCA, and c) have my credit card in my sweating hand, will they fill an order by phone like that? Also, for the curious minded, here's the text from the 2nd email I recived about 03's, from CMP, dating from 8.31.06: Sir, what the web site is conveying is that we are not taking any more "Mail Orders" for 1903 rifles. There may still be some available at the North Store when you get ready to make the trip and there may not be , as we only posted them as being sold out last week and we did not remove any of them that were already in inventory at either store. We do still have a few of them in the South Store but we are listing them as sold out on our web page because we wanted to stop the mail in orders on them as soon as possible because we knew we had so few left in inventory and would rather just not have the orders come in than to have to send them back to customers because we couldn't fill them. The only way to get one at this time is if there are still some available at the store in Port Clinton or Anniston. I do not know how many they have at the North Store and there is no one there at this time for me to contact. But even if they do have some today, they might not have them when you go there and that is why I suggested that you call. I hope this helps to clear up the confusion. We will not have anymore of those available until sometime next year when we will have some veterans organization returns but we have no idea at this point in time what kind of condition they will be in, how we will grade them, what the prices will be, etc. I do not know if there are still any 1903 rifles available at the North Store. You would just probably need to call there before you go and see. However, they are closed all week this week for inventory and will not be opening back up until the 6th of September.
