Hi guys, My friend picked up a Mauser a while back, but never really found out what model it is. It has a sporter stock, 22inch barrel, made in Danzig 1906, WWI roller coaster sights made for round nose bullets, and marked Gew98 but its not a regular Gew98 'cause the barrel is too short.

The barrel was cut down, the model is correct.  Remove the rifle from the stock and see what the markings are if you wish.

Dude! Watch the camera angle. Feet are OK, but that last pic scared me!

Probably someone cut the bbl as part of a sporterization as the bolt handle has been bent/modified too.
