The last I heard the G43's that the russians have in inventory have been rearsenaled like all the K98's that have come in recently and they are wanting $800 a piece from the imported and will only sell in I believe 5000 rifle lots.

so doin the math, $800 X 5000 = 4 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!!! per lot.

I know they'd sell here in the US at $800 a piece but I doubt that they'd sell very well at $1000 a piece especially in the current market of High prices on everything and I know the Importers aren't gonna sell them at a loss.

It'll be fun when South Korea turns loose of all those Garands and Carbines.

How much is left out there though that isn't NFA or AW (unimportable)?

That Korean shipment is already on its way. If anyone remembers the last Korean shipment from the 80's they were well worn rifles that in many cases had been reparked.
The Russians and the Chinese are still the major holders of surplus arms and it would be nice to see those come in. However, with the doallr low and shiping costs up it might not ever happen before legislation cuts them off again.
Looking at other areas of the world I think we will still see stuff come out of Yugoslavia and the Ukraine with a smattering of other eastern european countries.
I think the Philipines and Veitnam would be places where vast stores might still exists. However, they are probably in pretty poor condition based on the environment.

The surplus game is always intersting as you never know what might be found in some forgotten warehouse.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.  The CMP was offered them but turned them down because of the condition.

2 questions:

1) Who is going to be selling the Korean Garands and carbines?

2) Why on earth do the Russians want so much for the G43s?  Granted, I was just thinking yesterday that I would like to have one, but I don't think I'd pay much more than 500 bucks for one.

I'd like to see a big lot of the Winchester 1895s we made for the Russians in WWI, but I doubt it will ever happen. By the way, what did actually happen to those rifles?

Personally, I think we're at the end of the rope when it comes to new stuff. There will be plenty of Mosins and common Mauser variants, but G43s aren't going to be flooding our shores.

Same as the G43s.....sitting in a Russian warehouse rusting away because they want more than the importers figure they could sell them for here.

Heck, I'd be happy if the Russians turned loose their supply of TT-33s.
