Hi all, I just got my C&R in the mail (3 week turnaround)  and now I wanto to buy a nice German K98.  I want a shooter, not necessarily a collecter.  However, I would like to have one with the German markings intact.  Does anyone know where I can find something like this for a good price?  Also, what is a good price?  And lastly (for now) is there anything in particular to look for on these?  things I should know about or anything?  Thank you all for your time and patience, I'm new to the C&R game.

My local Big 5 store is selling them for 100 bucks but they are Yugos . not german .

I'm guessing 250 and up .

Find a Russian Capture K98.  Skip Mitchels Mauser, they are con artists IMO.  Their ads give false information.  Price for a RC K98 should vary from $175 on up.

Inter Ordnance had them a few months back. I got a Russian Capture for $210 with handpick. All the proof marks were there. The Ruskies had electro-penciled the bolt and stamped the stock with a matching serial number. They also put a nasty shellac on it that makes the stock look like ass. Nice barrel though.

Mitchell's is guilty of blatant fraud.  Stay away from their products and the company.  They are just a bunch of crooks.
