I've had my licence for about 3 weeks now and I finally placed my first order. My grandfater gave me a P-14 Enfield several years ago so I decided to start collecting other enfields.

I have a Savage made No4 Mk. I with spike bayonet on order from SOG. They seemed to have the best prices on them and they were very helpful on the phone.

I'll post pictures when it arrives and will probably need some advice on clean-up/refurb and ammo sources.

Any good info on the Savage model in particular out there?

Here are pictures of mine right out of the box from SOG. It has all correct marked parts. 1943 production:

I still need to clean it up as you can tell.

It looks like a good one from what I can see in those pictures.

Did you do the handpick?

Let us know how it turns out and where you got it. I am still waiting for my license. I'm definitely going to add an Enfield to the list.

I have been hearing good stuff about this from SOG (especially if you paid the extra $10 for a hand selected one).

Mine is great but it was purchased about 2 months ago and looks and shoots awesome. You may want to start searching for posts about ammo.

Yeah I know. I don't understand why the ammo supply is so limited for this gun, especially with all the surplus rifles available now. Anyway, I have my grandfathers old reloading dies for 303 Brit. but I haven't picked up a press for myself yet.

I guess I really need to look into that now.
