That's alot of coin for a duffle-cut, refinished G43 IMHO.

The '29 is nice, dunno if it's $3,000 nice, but it's a neat gun.

1) what's a duffle-cut?

2) what is special about that K98?

War trophy rifles were sometimes brought home in the GI's duffle bag.  Disassembled, everything fits except the stock.  So the stock was cut down to fit and then put back together when the GI got home.  If you look in the first picture above, you can see the cut-line on the stock about 6-8 inches from the fore end.  Usually it was done under the rear barrel band so it wasn't noticeable, but the G48 doesn't have one.

LL nailed it. The description for the G43 says it's duffle cut. Refinished guns, no matter how much you ask on your auction, aren't worth what original condition guns are. A friend paid less than he's asking for a very minty, un dicked with G43 not too long ago.

Rare.
