How do I adjust the sights on my mosin-nagant.  At 50yds it shoots 6" right and about 100yds it shoots 12" to the right.

Check the front of the front post hoop. At the base of this there should be a notch where it was marked (struck both base and hoop) at zero from the factory. IF not lined up, vise, punch, hammer to line up, back to range.

I'm going to check tonight, but I think it has two punch marks.  One set is dead center of the base and of the sight and looks factory made.  It is not lined up.  The second set looks like someone took a chisel to it.

Mines about that far to the left with the iron sights without the bayonet extended.  It takes a real effort to move that front sight.

Which Mosin Nagant rifle do you have?
The M44s had the sights regulated to shoot with the bayonet extended. When the bayo is folded it messes with the harmonics and causes problems like yours.

About half blind anyways.  I just put a pistol scope/scout mount setup on it.   Works pretty good.  Trying to get the M38 and M91/59 to work as well.

Got one of those too.  You still need to drift the front sight to adjust the windage.  Or put a scout mount on the rear sight base. <G>

Do it the way the russian soldiers did, hit it with a rock til it just doesn't matter anymore then just point the rifle in the general direction of the enemy and shoot.
