and still no C&R. this is killin me.., |
|
I think it is because of the high volume of applications. Maybe they will catch up or hire more people. Since I have applied, there are some guns that are becoming scarse that I wanted to buy. Do yourself a favor and don't look at the C&R ads! I hope your FFL comes quicker than mine...best of luck! |
Think thats bad, Im waiting in a Class III approval. |
I don't think that calling helps. Most of the time you don't get a live body, and when you do speak with someone, they give you a very cold 3-4 months back log and they hang up on you. When I called I tried being nice and pleasant, but I never even had a chance to tell her my name. A few weeks ago I finally was able to give her my name and I was told it is on the way. I mailed my application January 26th and my check was cashed on February 6th. Still no C&R. This appears to be a problem with the person that handles the state of Illinois...too many applications. |
UZI, with the 45 and 22 conversion and approx 30 mags. Next up is the supressor. |
My envelopes and letters have been ready for months. I am afraid that by the time I get my C&R, the postage rate will have gone up and I will have to get new stamps! |
|
I would love to see the operation they use to do the C&R licenses. I picture my application sitting at the bottom of a pile, with the new applications being put on the top of the pile. Then I picture the woman who issues the Illinois licenses...she is talking on the phone, arguing with one of her babies fathers, and eating fried pork rinds. I was just looking through an issue of Shotgun News, and without a C&R, I am not in a very good mood. |
|
I've been waiting since February, but I have my interview as per NY state law tomorrow. I wish I had the C&R though when there were those VZ-24 rifles for 60 bucks with the rampant lion crest, since my grandparents were Czech I think that would have been really cool. |
|
NY state has an "interview" where theycan come to you or I think you can visit them. It isn't so much an interview as it is going over rules and regulations, The ATF guy was friendly and basically he stressed that you can't use this to stock up on guns and deal at gun shows and so on. Basically everything you guys know and taught me already. He told me I did my homework heh, since basically all I had to do was nod and say "yeah" to most things. It took about an hour, and while a state requirement is a waste of time and a pain in the butt really. If it wasn't required it wouldn't be so bad, as it does give you a chance to clear things up and ask questions. |
Now if you're talking about your "bound book' that you enter purchaces and things then you won't get one of those from BATF, you'll have to make your own. I did get a package with the regulations about a day before I got the license though. |
|
This is what I use for a bound book.... www.tystuff.com/ATF_Boundbook/Bound_Book[1].pdf I just number the pages and keep them in a 3 ring binder. |
Just a note, I had something similar when I had the interview with the ATF guy. He told me that really technically they do want it in a bound book, like the compositions book you had in grade school. I know they are more concerned about proper records and such, but that's what he told me suggesting that it is better to follow everything as close as possible. |

M1 Garand, an SKS, a Steyer M95, a CZ pistol...too many to list! I mailed out the copies of my C & R today. By next week the ordering will begin! I really feel for you guys that are waiting for your license. Now that I look back on it, I should have called more often to check on the status of my license. I don't think it hurts to leave a few messages. |
