Looking at two rifles, the CZ-USA CZ455 Varmint Precision Trainer and the Anschutz Rimfire Trainer Series.

Which would you choose, and why?

Well, the Annie costs 3x more than the CZ...

My CZ shoots 0.7 moa consistently. Can the Annie do 0.5? Is a 0.2 delta worth over $1,000?
Only you can answer that question.

If your budget is of no consequence, get the Annie. It has a fully adjustable trigger out of the box. Neither are bedded,IIRC, unless you purchase one the custom model Annies.

I don't own the Anschutz trainer, but I do own an Anschutz 64 silhouette rifle which shares the same action and trigger, it is very accurate.

I also own a CZ455 Varmint with a Mr. Fly adjustable trigger, the Annie trigger is much nicer IMHO, and thus helps me shoot some tighter groups, unsure how the barrels truthfully perform against each other when shooter error is removed from the equation, as I do not own a machine rest.

Not picking favorites, I enjoy both. You would probably be happy with either one, but the CZ does need some improvement upon the factory trigger.

As always, YMMV.

I'd choose the Annie, I had a CZ455 VPT that I used in competition, it shot well and I liked the trigger once I put the yodave kit in it.  It shot well but I was never happy with the bolt throw, it was really notchy and required a very deliberate UP, BACK, FORWARD, DOWN, as well as the bolt came very close to hitting the ocular on my 4-14 scope and wouldn't clear on my 4.5-27 razor.  I ended up with a custom 10/22 but I'd like to eventually pick up an annie or the new V-22.

I own an Anschutz 64MS and I have owned a couple of Brno and CZ rifles over the years.  Both are great.  CZs are a very decent gun.  Anschutz are pretty much unparalleled.

Go with the Anschutz.  Read the instructions as a lot of the high end Anuscutz rifles specifically say NOT to use a bore brush on them when you clean them.  I have never brushed my 64MS after tens of thousands of rounds since 1979....still mirror bright.

If I had the budget for that Anschutz I'd say neither. I have a 1416 and while nice and a decent shooter it's not necessarily a center punch. If the Annie was based on a 54 action it would be a harder choice. I'd step up to a Vudoo Gun Works 40x type gun for a few hundred more. It's looking like it might be close to the record holder in lot testing at Killough for a repeater. Plus it works in a 700 stock, uses 700 triggers, and standard AICS bottom metal.

I had the exact same dilemma.  Went with the Anschutz.  If you do go this route get it from the custom shop.  I think its for the extra money and I wish I had bought mine there.

I am pretty happy with my two CZ 455s but if I had the extra money for an Anschutz, I would probably have one.  They are worth it if you want the best in a 22 rifle.

In my mind, these are 22s, and while I like an accurate rifle, I just can't justify the cost for the capability and would rather put my money into a rifle that is chambered in a caliber that makes a difference.

I don't know those specific models. That being said anschutz hands down if you don't mind spending the money.

My 54 action heavy barrel was well under 1/2" groups at 50 yd. It was about a 3/8" average 1/4" - 7/16" most groups with cci green tag competition.  my dad's 1970's 64 sporter is a 1/2" gun all day.  No better no worst as long as you do your part.

CZ's are good, but they aren't anschutz good.

If you're fun money is as tight as mine I might go for the cz though. It's all what it's worth to you. I should have never sold my anschutz.  I would love to have another, but I can't justify the money to get slightly better groups than my kidd barreled 10/22.

Wait and find a CZ 453 with the SST that is adjustable.  Better bang for the buck, unless the buck doesn't matter.

ETA: there is a used CZ 453 Varmint on GB right now at around $650.
