Been reading various trigger mods of these. Before I go removing or cutting springs, I figured Id mess with the factory adjustment. Pulled the stock and sure enough, it was cranked all the way in (5lb), so I moved it out as far as I felt comfy without the set screw falling out and will shoot it tomorrow and see how I like it. Im doing good, pinging 2" and 3" steel off bench at 100yrds, so ill see how lighter trigger feels and does.

You don't need to cut anything.

Remove the set screw, take out the spring being retained by the set screw.  Re-install set screw.  Enjoy.

How much better is it with the spring gone?  Have you checked for misfires?

I didnt remove that spring. I removed the safety trigger and reset spring and adjusted to the lowest setting, made a difference for sure.

Much better, around 2.5lbs or less and very crisp.  I have repeatedly dropped the rifle, butt first, onto the ground from about 8", so slam fires.  The safety trigger is still intact.  No light strikes, either.

I can see the spring, but I can't get it out.  I've tried lightly dropping the barrel onto the floor and have inserted a tiny bent paperclip but it won't come out.

Any suggestions?

shouldnt have to drop anything, just fill it with some light oil or CLP and it should come out. I removed both springs and put the regular one back and jus removed the safety trigger and spring.

Got it out.  Either the design of the rifles has changed, or one the three of us (die-tryin, quietm4, or myself) is wrong.  I confirmed on two different RARs and the procedure was the same.  The spring cannot come past the set screw's threads—it must be removed from the rear.

1. Remove pin that holds in trigger blade (circled in read below)
2. Remove trigger blade and safety trigger
3. Remove trigger adjustment spring
4. Reinstalled trigger blade and safety trigger

Reinstalling the set screw is not required.  It serves no function once the spring has been removed.  I left it in to avoid losing it in my parts bin.

The trigger pull is now very light, but it also now has a slight bit of creep before firing.  I'll have to shoot it to decide whether to keep it this way.  This is not advice and I do not know whether this modification is safe.
