Well my brother in law was working on his 10/22 and offered to help me work on my FVSR a little more. Here is how it started.
FVSR in a Boyd's Tacticool from my old TR, DIP bottom metal and trigger guard, PA 4-16, Harris, Triad stock pack, Vtac sling, and all Krylon'd.
I stripped all the paint off and tore down the whole rifle. He then textured the grip and forearm in Marine Tex to match my MCM A5, installed flush cups, and removed 2 sling studs. I opened the barrel channel a little more and kept the sanding of the Marine Tex to a minimum, I wanted a more aggressive feel than the MCM.(the HDMR was for fun, even though the G2 reticle was awesome for bullet drop at different ranges)
Here is a video of having some fun before we coated all the parts. 100 yards shooting at 1/3 ISPC AR500 target(turn up speakers to hear impacts)
After we were satisfied with all the work I tore it apart. After some serious deliberation on a color scheme, I was kind of over the old pine straw camo, Coyote, OD green, or other usual color scheme's. We got some Duracoat colors and he coated the barreled action, bolt knob, base, new Weaver rings, and a PA FFP scope in Ultra Flat Woodland Tan Duracoat. We then mixed 1/3 OD Green with 2/3 Woodland Tan to make a Ranger green color(our designation was Ultra Swamp Tactical Flat Thing). He then coated the Stock, Metals, and bipod in this color. The thread protector, sling swivel's, and a not pictured magazine were coated in Flat Black Duracoat. The magazine in the rifle is a 50/50 mix of OD and Woodland Tan. It was too dark for what I wanted so we lightened it up to the color of the stock.
Here is the color compared to a Coyote Triad rear bag
I now am just waiting on scope caps and deciding on if I should replace the Multicam with Ranger green...
Ill take some more pictures outside, with hopefully a better camera than an iphone, at the range this weekend.
