Got an older model 60 cheap, buffer was broken of course and didn't feel like giving Numrich 20 bucks for one, and Midway is out until next month, so I fabbed one from an old radial tire, cut a chunk out to basic shape, then shaped it to fit with nothing more than a bench grinder, works great, ran some Aguila Supermax which is fairly hot and did not seem to batter anything any worse than the regular speed ammo.
Even 8 bucks and change from Midway is too much for this cheesy little part, it ought to be about a buck, maybe 2.99 for 5 or something like that. You'd be surprised how many gun parts you can make yourself with some basic tools and some material, I could have made one from plastic stock too real easy and cheap, it's not a seriously precision part. Getting real tired of getting bent over on small gun parts. |
