I was very surprised when preparing to shoot my new FV-SR for the first time last weekend when screwing on the suppressor and feeling resistance before the suppressor mated up with the barrel. It was not off by a long shot but enough that I will need a spacer.
Just a public service FYI for anyone who may not know. I knew going in I needed something for the longer threads on the Sig 522 and S&W 1522 but did not see it coming with the Savage. Why on earth would they have such long threads? After my experiece I have done some searching in various forums online and seen measurements at .700 and .475 for guys who have measured their FV-SR threads. |

Thanks for the heads up. I have a digital caliper, can you explain where to take the measurements from? I've got a thompson machine zephyrr xl in jail and i'd like to have my ducks in a row when its released. Shoulder of the barrel to the end of the threads. Betting it'll be .475 |

On 2 fvsr's, mine and a friends, we both need spacers. Want to hear something funny? On either rifle without a spacer, CCI SV ammo goes SS, with the spacer it does not. It is one the strangest things I have encountered. Just buy the 3 pack of spacers from the silencer store.

The OD of the spacer is larger than the bbl. looks kinda strange. Its also pretty thick. Not much thread sticks out. Should i be concerned? |
| Nominal thread length is .400" , and a good square barrel shoulder for the can to seat against. If your spacer is too thick, you won't have enough thread to secure the can squarely and securely, a recipe for disaster. Baffle and/or end cap strikes can destroy your can, get it right so you don't have to worry about it. |

Yeah, mine were a little long too. Apparently it varies. They aren't nearly as long as AR threads that I have on my s&w 15-22 and AR upper. I ended up using a peel (not a crush) washer under mine. Was just about the perfect thickness. This is what I do. Peel washer. Makes the threads on my gun right at .400 |
