I don't have mine yet but I noticed from pictures on the Internet that the bag it comes with has an empty pocket right beside the pocket that holds the barrel section.
My question is... will Ruger offer an accessory barrel assembly in a different caliber, such as- 17 mach2 ? Would it be possible to swap barrel assemblies and use the same bolt to change calibers? Tommy T. |

A 22WMR or 17 require a heavier bolt. Don't expect other calibers to be offered. 17mach2 is a necked down .22LR, you're thinking of 17HMR. The Mach2 is just a barrel swap. A mach2 conversion would kick ass. Would it use the same mags though? I believe I saw in the Ruger catalog that the std. 10 round .22lr mag also is used for 17 Mach 2 Tommy T. |

It would be nice, and I'd might get a .17 M2 barrel if available (considering I don't have to get more magazines), but I don't see any advantage over .22 LR, at the moment.
Can't get either caliber. Probably would pick it up, so I'd have it when the ammo starts to come back. Now, if Hogue made a overmolded stock set for the Takedown, and have an option to pick up an extra forend, I’d be all over it. I love my Takedown, but not that happy with the stock. |

Do they make a 10/22 in 17 M2?? Wonder how it varies from a standard .22LR 10/22? I'm sure if it has been done with the standard rifle, doing it for the takedown wouldn't be rocket surgery. Ive never seen a factory offering.....but there are conversion barrels and bolts out there. The .17HM2 is a neat cartridge, but im not sure its worth the extra $ over 22lr hi velocity.......or just getting a 22mag or .17HMR |
