I have had my eye on getting a 10/22 for sometime now.
The itch took hold of me right as the panic buying started.
I wanted a 10/22 take-down in stainless. Not willing to pay the panic $500 price tag I waited.
I happened across this on craigslist:

I was able to get this like new 10/22 stainless mossy oak, with a ruger 30 rd mag, 500 rounds of ammo and a nice red head case for $320.
Sorry for the crappy pic!
I think it was a good deal....I saw them retailing around the high 200s.

Till the ammo panic settles is will be shooting this and saving my big rifle ammo.

Nice first .22.  I wish my first had been a 10/22 (it would have saved a lot of trial and error).  Great rifles and infinitly customizable.  Don't get me wrong, there are other good .22 rifles out there, but if I had to choose only one it would be a 10/22.

I agree. I've had a few over the years, but never really got attached. I think that's because I never modified them.

I recently decided I was going to heavily invest in 22lr to get more trigger time and save some of my high end reloads if 77 grain 556 and 300Blk subs and supers.

So since right around Christmas I've purchased 3 22's. A Ruger 10/22 stainless takedown, a 10/22 zombie stopper and a real nice Remington 541s made in '72.

I modified both the Rugers but especially the special edition. Took the barrel and stock off for safe keeping. Added a Kidd match bull barrel and am having a custom manners clone built.

I have to say I'm enjoying these 22's more than anything I've had in a long time. The bonus of my kids living it just as much is just icing on the cake.
