I'm looking for just a solid duable and cheap .22 that i can bang around and not worry about it too much. Maybe a ruger 10/22 ? What are some other good ones. I would also like to customize it as much as possible.
Thanks In Advanced. |

I don't want to go all out tacticool just enough to where I can practice somewhat, for my ar but cheaply. |

If you want practice for your AR....Pony up and get a S&W 15-22.
I don't see a Ruger 10/22 being practice for an AR in anything other than maybe basics like trigger control.....and that might be imaginative. Love my 10/22s and I am currently working on a semi-build for my Takedown model but it doesn't translate, easily, to practice for an AR platform. My opinion. You could look into the Troy conversion for the 10/22 but, at that point, you may as well have bought the S&W. |

Marlin 60's are OK> I know, I own one. BUT, the Ruger 10/22 is just king of the hill if you plan on customizing it. Also, the
10/22 uses real magazines. You can load them up ahead of time at home and when you get to the range you just pop them in. With the Marlin 60 you don't have that options. Of course you could go to the 795 Marlin and have replaceable magaine but, they are ten rounds. I have owned my first 10/22 since the mid 1970's and 36 years later its still going like a new one. Yes, its durable. |
