A few months back i posted about an extraction issue, So i decide to try and fix it. Bought a new extractor and spring and completely cleaned the rifle and same damn issue. My ruger mark 2 has no issues and both use the same lot number of ammo. any ideas? Oh and it does it with the 10 round mags and brand new ruger factory 25 round mags.

My thought is that it's happening because the bolt is not moving fast enough to eject really hard. Is this with bulk pack ammo? Are the ones that are jamming also the ones that don't seem to have a full powder charge? What % of rounds fired are jamming like that?

Mine would stove pipe like that with Federal ammo. It surprises me that you have a lot of stove pipes with CCI though.
What other ammo have you tried? I think your friend is right. If you were going to throw it away, I would definitely want to tinker with it...... |

I made him a great deal on his first gun so i feel alright saleing it to him. cz 452 here i come. Its not that i have anything against ruger. i have 4 more of their products but the 10 22 is one thats just not for me. |
| Sorry you are having problems with your 10/22. There are over six million of them out there and by far most are working superbly. I personally have four of these things and all work 100% always. But, that has nothing to do with yours. There are many things that can cause the problem you are having. First answer would be to really clean it up right. Then properly lube it. Next try an assortment of ammo to find what works best in YOUR gun. But, from what you are saying your patience with this little rifle is over. Well then, take care and enjoy whatever you get next. |

I bet your friend will have a better go at it   . BTW I'm sure Ruger would fix it without any issues. Better yet if it was bought new it would be covered by warranty.

Is it possible the charging handle came off the guide rod? Or at least moved up enough on the rod not to come off, but enough to change the tension on the spring.
When a friend was teaching how to tear down my ruger, my charging handle came off the guide rod. I got it back on after rotating it around the guide rod. I haven't shot it yet, but I ordered a spare OEM charger handle just encased. |

I know this rifle should run just fine without modification, but I always re radius the bolt and use a bolt buffer to get my bolt speed up. I have actually been having more issues with Blazer in my 10/22 and marlin 75C than any other ammo I have tried. They both eat everything else flawlessly. I think a lot of it has to do with the longer driving bands. the OP should try some regular Federal bulk pack or Federal automatch and see how it goes. One more thing to check. If you have disassembled your trigger group, check to make sure the hammer strut c clip is facing up. If this is wrong sometimes the strut can cut into the aluminum and slow the bolt significantly. |

| This is pretty interesting. My 10/22 was doing the same thing with federal ammo. I switched back to remmington and it is working fine again. My only problem with that is my malin 60 doesn't like the remmington, lol. It'll be interesting to see what your final fix is. |
