So, today I loaded from a box of Winchester SuperX .22 shotshells.  I fired them from both a Ruger Mk. III Target, and a Marlin 980V.  I had extraction issues with both guns, and had to remove the expended cartridge cases with my Gerber.  This common with these rounds?

The little use I've had with them suggests yes. They seem best suited to revolvers. It appears then when the crimp opens upon firing that the case becomes too long to reliably extract from semi autos. Also the don't seem to generate the necessary pressure to even work the semi actions.

Shotshells are well known to NOT work in ANY semi, FWIW. Bolt actions & revolvers are what these rds were designed to be used in.

^^^what he said. Even the blue-capped CCI's aren't able to cycle my Buckmark, 10/22, etc.

I've used them for snakes around the house (rattlesnake problem last year after monsoon season...7 in 6 weeks). They turn my MKIII 22/45 into a single shot but they feed reliably from the mag and extract/eject fine.
