What is it about the Mueller APV that it is recommended over mostly all other scopes for .22lr rifles?

Good quality scope with AO.

good quality glass with no distortion, not dim, etc.
the 4.5-14 magnification seems to work well for those who have done some accuracy improving work on their rifle. lets you go from the typical 4X you get with the common fixed power scopes up to higher power for extended ranges with out getting into magnification ranges that start to get silly for anything other than benchrest shooting.
adjustable objective
many vendors include the sunshade and shipping
the price is reasonable.

ok, it's more scope than some people want for plinking, but if you're pitting it on a 10/22 with an aftermarket bull barrel and some trigger work the price doesn't seem too out of whack.

it's not a compact scope... so probably not the best choice for a 10/22 in a folding stock.

i'll be ordering an APT for one of my 10/22s next month. this is the "tactical" variant with target knobs, a mil-dot reticle and a 30mm tube.

The biggest draw is the nearly infinte adjustable objective feature that corrects parallax issues, coupled with rugged, excellent quality optics at a damned reasonable price.

I've been using Mueller's Mil dot Tactical 8.5-25 with my remfires when I'm testing for groups.
I have several thousand rounds on it. Been a good rimfire scope.

I ahve a APT on my 10/22 and my wife has the APV. I think that they are great scopes and you would need to spend 2x their amount to get into a better rimfire scope. YMMV.

I have two Mueller APV scopes I bought when they were first introduced.  I got a discount deal on them because I was a member at rimfirecentral.com.  They are nice scopes with pretty good optics and hold zero, a good value in my opinion.  Not as good as high dollar glass, but better than most scopes in the same price range.
