has anyone tried the new ammo out of their 10/22 yet?I am buying my boy his first 22 ,what ammo should i buy for it ?

Buy a couiple of different brands/bullet weights/styles to try. Every .22 has its own favorites and hates. You gotta try a few to find out what yours does or doesn't run well with. If it is new keep in mind that it will need a break-in of 200-500 rounds before it smooths up. I would suggest however that you avoid Remington Golden Bullet as they can be pretty nasty. S&W specifically instructs owners of the 15-22 to avoid the round peroid.

MiniMags seem to be the best all around functioning ammo. I have 1 that really likes Wincherstr hyper-x, another that loves RWS target and some that dont care so I feed them Fed bulk.
I do not shoot any Remington rimfire.

I like the new ammo... I like it a lot. CCI Mini Mags are pretty good, too.
