| Since I can't use normal mounts on my savage mark II F due to the holes being drilled uneven , could I use "dovetail " rings or whatever they're called? I'm heading to the range this weekend and want to shoot it. |

the Mark 2s i've seen were not grooved. don't know if they're all like that, but if not sending it back is your only option. don't think i'd want 3/8" dovetail rings on it. not a lot of options in ring height and type. The Mark II that I used to have had a dovetail instead of being drilled and tapped. |

Savage had a problem with the front holes being drilled about .1" closer to the port opening so a lot of one piece mounts won't fit. Post a pic of the top of the receiver if you can. |
