| Hi all wanted to know what is really needed to reduce trigger pull down to 2-3 lbs?I am looking at the parts that are available and there are kits from just a hammer and springs to just about everything in the trigger assembly.I wanted to know what everybody has used, and if worked out and were they happy with them? Thanks for for your time Jake |

Volquartsen hammer will do the trick.
Little note: When I installed the VQ hammer, I had to use the factory trigger return spring, as the VQ return spring just didn't reset the trigger each time. This may have changed, but when I bought my VQ hammer, I was able to get an extractor, the hammer, and an auto bolt release all at once. Each of these upgrades was well worth it. |

This is something I came up with a while back. It has been posted at RFC for quite some time. Overall I think everyone that has tried it has had it work well for them. It is cheap and uses a bobby pin to replace the trigger return plunger and spring.
Make sure you read the first and last page to get the full explanation of how to install. Bobby pin trigger return spring install with pics I have one 10/22 with thousands of reliable rounds with this trigger job. It is cheap, easy and reliable. Dolomite |

I basically did the same upgrades and was having the same issue with the trigger not resetting. For me, the problem went away after a 100 rounds or so. The VQ hammer does lighten the trigger a lot, but for me, it's got some creep before it breaks. A KID drop-in is next on my list of upgrades. |

VQ hammer made one hell of a difference for me. I'm not a trigger expert in the least, all I know is that it's 100 times better than the stock trigger, in my opinion. My Lyman digital trigger pull gage says the VQ hammer with Ruger spring pulls 3 lb 12 oz. It does have some creep but it's a lot better than the stock setup. |

The Volquartsen kits work fine for general duty plinking and light target shooting. Step up to the adjustable Power Custom if want to get really serious, and the KIDD if you want to get really, really serious. |
