just bought one for 99 bucks new. 
and eventually i'm going to get a scope for it, just seeing what the hive thinks. |

In no particular order, prices from SWFA website. You may be able to beat these prices.
I have used all of the below scopes on rimfire rifles with no complaints about any of them. The Leupold and Weavers are favorites, I have a Marlin 995SS that currently wears the 2-7x Weaver. Leupold 4x rimfire $220 (Marlin 39A) Nikon Prostaff 4x rimfire $100 (Marlin bolt action 22 Mag) Weaver 4x rimfire $120 (10/22) Weaver 2-7x rimfire $140 (Marlin 995SS) Bushnell Banner 4x .22 scope ... can't find a price, probably discontinued (old Sears/Marlin .22 LR bolt gun) |

For an inexpensive scope:
Simmons .22 Mag w or w/o an adjustable objective is a real good option. Right now there is a promotion of 25% off on Simmons products over $25. I have a Mueller Ereaticator on mine. The scope, while just over $200, is more than twice what I paid for the Marlin 795 but the rifle deseves it because it shoots so well. |
