Just got my APV installed onto my .22!

I will post pics shortly!

Dolomite, I had to go with the APV, it was the more logical option, I'm not trying to spite you.

With Subsonic~ 100 yards
Standard Velocity ~ 100 & 200 yards
Hyper Velocity~ 200?

We've shot from a Height of 50 feet across the river at a jetty, hitting bricks that where dumped.
Not really sure of the distance but the giggle factor was there ever time the kids saw brick dust.

Kimber 82
Iron Sights 5rds
Darn flier!
Center X ammo
These 50 yd targets look like a dot at 100yds

I have shot steel plates at 200 yards. Pretty decent "groups" at about 4MOA. I am sure I could shot it much further, but I do not have a place to shoot any further than that.

I've shot my 10/22 to 300 yards. Nothing resembling a group at that range, but with Federal bulk pack, I can have round #7 in the air before round #1 hits the berm.

I've hit golf balls on first hit at 100 yds with my 10/22 with a GM barrel, nothing like 2277 yds but it feels good to do it

I've got a drop chart for my 10/22T out to 200y.

No problem once you dial it in.

little confused - 2' is two feet?  Not judging you but just asking.  And if you meant 2 inches, that's great.  looks lik almost minute of angle shooting with that rifle.

Yeah, 2 feet. Nothing as impressive as shooting a bird at 3000 yards, but it's the farthest I've had a confirmed hit with a .22LR.

At 3000 yards I'd figure you've just got to factor in the curvature of the earth as well as your windage and elevation. No big deal. Now if the bird was flying I'd be impressed.

Dropped a crow DRT @ 2277yds on the laser, 10/22, GM barrel, custom trigger, Simmons 44mag 6.5-20 scope, prone on a bi-pod

First shot was short and left(fairly heavy wind blowing 90º right to left).

Bird just jumped a bit, but stayed there...

Second shot was dead on but still short, this time the bird flew about 10 yards and landed again...

Adjusted and let the third one fly, thud, dead bird.

You shot 1.29 miles with a 10/22 and hit a target the size of a crow?

I plugged the numbers into JBM and it crashed the site!

Remember those old SciFi flicks where the mag tape reels would start spinning, and thousands of lights would blink on/off faster and faster, until smoke started coming out.

Then a monitor or two would explode...?

Yesterday I was shooting my Savage MKII FXP w/ a 3x9 Bushnell with my new Outback II and subsonic ammo.

I sighted it in at 50yds and it was grouping really well and there were some 10x12 plates at 100yds so I was trying to hit those and by putting the peak of the heavy duplex on the middle of the plate I could hit it if I did my part.

I figure 100yds with subsonic ammo is pretty good.

With a Ruger 10/22 that belongs to my uncle, with all sorts of add-ons? About 185 yards.

With my own basic Winchester .22? I'd say 120 yards.

Marlin Mod 60.  I have shot it out to 200 yards a couple times.  I routinely shoot it at 100 yards.  Have the scope zero'ed at 50 yards, however.

200-250 yards with my savage MKII TR. was hitting the plate consistently but would get some fliers ever so often.

Longest was steel plates at 200 yards. A local club holds egg shoots at 100 yards for rimfires that I go to quite often. Most of my rimfire time is spent blasting away at 25 yards though

ETA: Savage Mk II BSEV for the 100-200 yard shots. Henry lever action and a Marlin 795 for everything else

We used to sit on the top of a hill and shoot at a steel aerial marking sign when I was a teen.  I used my Ruger MKI Target model.  The range was at least 250 yards.  After a few rounds to figure out the holdover, I could hit it fairly consistently.  I still have the pistol, but unfortunately the place we used to shoot at is now a subdivision!

Not to worry.

For me going without a mildot now would suck big time and any new scope will, without a doubt, be a mildot. I never thought I would or could use a scope with mildots but now that I have a few I couldn't imagine my life without them. Even if you are not going to use the mildots target turrets are almost always a must when shooting anything that requires a lot of adjustment like a 22.

I use mildots on a 10/22, an AR and have used them on a Savage 223. As of late, with my Savage, I have started dialing my holdover on the turrets rather than relay on the mildot for the holdover. Makes it a bit more precise but in a SHTF situation I would use the mildot for everything, ranging as well as holdover. I would do this with my AR because even when I would use only the mildot (not the turrets) for holdover I would still get hits on a one foot piece of steel 99.9% of the time out to 400 yards.

Good looking stick.

Pigeon sized bird at 185 yards with CZ 452 Varmint.  Wolf Match Target (subsonic).  All hold over with scope zeroed at 50 yards.  Third shot was a charm.

I have shot ground hogs out to 100 yards or so using HV hollowpoint rounds.  But even with these, shot placement is important.

I take squirrels at 40-50 pretty easy using Winchester subsonic HP's.

When I was a kid I could knock empty shotgun shells off the berm at 100 yards with my old Marling and a cheap Tasco scope.

If Im going after varmints beyond 100 yards, I have a 22-250.

Me to, with a Marlin model 39..

Empty shogun shells are cheap targets. I always found them on the ground at the public shooting sites I shot at.

300yds with an old Remington Model 37 and globe front/rear peep sight.  Shooting a steel gong roughly 18".  Could get good solid hits 7/10 when the wind was calm.. Just gotta figure out the elevation.. Maxed out my sight and that wasn't quite enough, used a little holdover for the extra bit.  A LOT of fun and very satisfying.

This is 5 shots out of my Remington 513T at 200 yards using similiar Redfield peep sight that my M37 had.  Those old Remingtons are real sweethearts.

cool thread.  i've shot out to 400 yards pinging steel plates with a Savage 22lr bolt gun.  great fun!

also shot suppressed 22's at targets along a lake from the top of a mountain one time in northern Alabama.  probably 500 yards we guessed.

This weekend I was shooting my suppressed MkIII with a 5.5" bbl at 100 yds on a 12x18 plate.  It was pretty hard because the front sight covered the plate so windage was hard to hold. I could ding it about half the time using Fed Bulk pack.

200 yards.

26 of 32 shots fired were in that 7" circle. Just made a quick count, may be wrong.

Had to take a close up of the circle cause I only had my phone and if I took the pic from a distance you wouldn't see the shots.

That was with 36 grain Mini Mags.

Going to try something in the 40 grain flavor next time.
