I have a chance to purchace this old Scheutzen style .22. I was told it is a European target rifle and has a Martini-Aydt action. I don't know how old it is or what it is worth but I really like it. Anyone have any information on these old girls?

No info but it looks neat. What is the asking price.

Check with the ASSRA for information from experts.  You might also look to the Wyoming Scheutzen Union for help.

There are six or eight Martini variations, mostly with an internal hammer, a few with a spring powered striker.

Do you need a left nut?

Thanks for the replies fellas, if I can buy it I'll be able to tell more about it. It is not even in my State and I have a chance to buy it at the end of the month. The fellow isn't sure how much he wants so we will see what happens.

I believe it's German made - there will be numbers and proof marks on
the bottom of the barrel under the forearm (if you can get the owner to check) that will give more information.

Oh, there's not the least doubt it's German, or from the German sphere of influence: Vienna, Hungary, Switzerland, etc.
