I have been trying to zero my 10/22 but this factory trigger is really sticky and it is screwing up groups.
What are some good ways of dealing with this problem?
Perhaps after market trigger? Maybe custom work....

Any suggestions are appreciated

I tried this w/o changing springs......just install the new hammer and bushings.  The trigger now breaks on 3 1/4 pounds.

IMHO........excellent for the amount of money spent.

Aloha, Mark

PowerCustom hammer and sear, or a trigger job by Jim Clark or any of the others who do these.
Or DIY , check Rimfire Central for where to stone.

VQ target hammer or power custom hammer and sear
the best two solutions

I went with the VQ hammer with excellent results and no stoning. Simple, quick and it works.

What is your budget? If you want the ultimate, look at a Kidd trigger, otherwise the above suggestions will get you better than what you currently have.

its not the trigger itself or the sear that needs changed. Its the hammer and the angle of the notch. The Volquartsen target hammer is EDMed and has a much better angle on the notch. Just changing the hammer makes a huge difference.

Or... you can go electronic, which will let you set your pull weight from kilograms down to grams, and your travel down to nearly nothing
... and you can use it to have the best trigger possible, even on a bullpup stocked 10-22, as shown here.

If money isn't a problem, the Kidd trigger is the best I have seen for the 10/22. I have tried various parts replacements. You can get a descent trigger, but nothing else is like the Kidd.

For sure. No budget? Kidd. Budget, start with the volquartsen target hammer.
