| My modle 60 is not feeding ammo the right way. It seems like the round is not being pushed back far enough for the bold to push it onto the feed ramp. When the bolt goes forward, it gets caught on the front half of the round and hangs up. I had to pull the bolt back and lock it. From there, I would take a small screw driver and push the round back for it to pop up infront of the bolt then I would tip the rifle over to clear the round. Any ideas of what the issue is? |

I'd personally take it to my local gunsmith and let him take a look at it. I don't think many guys charge just to look and tell you what's wrong specifically without fixing anything.
I really can't say what's wrong or how to fix anything without seeing it for sure, ya know? |
| This website is a valuable resource for any model 60 owners. Do a search as this topic has been well covered. Sorry, but I can't give you a better answer, as this has never happen to any of mine. |

Not to sound like a jerk, but have you taken it down and gave it a good cleaning? I usually take the barrel/action out of the stock, then remove the action and hose it down with CLP and get busy with a tooth-brush. I wipe down most of the easy to get to spots like the feed ramp and sides/insides of the action to get most of the CLP out (A little CLP goes a long way). Q-Tips come in handy to get to those hard to reach spots. I then wrap then action in an old t-shirt and let it sit overnight to soak up some of the excess CLP. One thing I have not attempted to do is take then action apart...too many small springs and clips for my taste LOL. The bolt gets a spray of CLP and a good brushing with tooth-brush, and the hole were the spring/guide rod goes gets cleaned out with a patch with CLP. The barrel gets a three passes of a Bore-Snake with CLP sprayed on the bristle area. Your problem might just be something simple as it needing a good cleaning...or as others have said it may take the efforts of a gunsmith to fix. I always go with a good cleaning before taking a malfunctioning gun to a gunsmith. If it is an old rifle then it might very well have a broken/bad spring. Hope you get it figured out, they are fine rifles. Just traded an mint 80's model 60 for a Stoeger SxS 12ga Shotgun. I only paid $75 for it, but the gunshop gave me $100 in trade for it. It was a fine shooter, but I have a brand new one that is just as accurate, and I like the heavier/shorter barrels on the new models. |
| I gave it a good cleaning before I went tot he range because of the problems the time before. I did the O-tip and tooth brush cleaning on it. I will most likely take it to a shop to look at. It is a accurate rifle when it works. One last thing, when I fired it as fast as I could the issue was less apparent?!? |
