Just put a Boyd's evolution stock on my my 10/22...like THIS
I'd like to put a bipod on it...obviously needs to be barrel mounted...what are some good ones to look for other then Harris? |
| Why would you barrel mount? You will loose accuracy since the barrel is free float in that stock. You need to add an Uncle Mikes - Sling Mount in the front end of the stock and then use a Harris or equivalent bipod. All you need to do is drill a pilot hole in the stock and a slight counterbore a little larger than the sling mount so to create a flat just below the outside contor of the stock. This wound look the best. Good Luck. |

It doesn't need to be barrel mounted. What gave you this idea?
Get a set of Uncle Mikes studs and install them yourself. Here is a link to a thread at RFC about how to install them like a pro... Link |

I can't imagine shooting a 10/22 with a bipod.

Link I guess I just wasnt all that crazy about drilling into my new stock...but seems like an easy install. Thanks for the link. |

If they are not a bench gun or a gun that is not going to be shot from prone/rested area, bipods don't belong on them. I would love to participate in an Appleseed event though |

Sure, I still use a bipod on my 50 BMG and 338 Lapua since they're too heavy not to but shooting anything lighter these days is sans bipod. Get rid of that bench and bipod and you'll find out you aren't near the shot you thought you were. I did. -David Edgewood, NM |
