what kind of shooting do you do most? I shoot a lot of .22's. Usually 2 to 3 hundred a month, (when I can find some to replace them with) and always look at whats on the shelf when I go to restock. Well I keep noticing that there always seems to be a few 40 rnd. boxes of 22-250 on the shelf that look like they have been there a while.
Would this mean that theres not a lot of 22-250 shooting going on or that everyones reloading for their rifle. At 29,00 for 40 its not a great deal but if you didn't have a rifle at all it would be a way to stock up that looks available a least. I havn't seen ANY .22's on the shelfand darn few .223's in the last year and a halfso I'm looking for options. I have a Rem. 700 22-250 already. It may have to come out of the safe and get a little dirty. I hand load for it and have several boxes of ammo for it , time to get out and use them what do you think? |

I have been shooting for MANY years. I have several favorite guns but since I go to the range about once a week and shoot a lot I find myself using a lot of .22 ammo.
I have managed to keep a fair amount of .22 in inventory. I would guess I have 7k-8k on the shelf right now. But, as I go through at least 1k - 2k per month that is not a big supply. Its hard to find locally but I have a good buddy in another city and they seem to get more in their local Wally World. He picks up several boxes for me whenever he can. I provide him with reloads for .223, 9mm, and .380. Hey, what are friends for? I do find time for some of my 5.56 ARs as well as my 9mm AR and Beretta CX-4 Storm. I shoot my converted .22 AR a lot. I have several .22 pistols, and of course the required Ruger 10/22's. In today's world .22 just makes good sense. |
