| So i have a 22 magnum rifle, and its getting frustrating when the ammo for this is just as much as handgun ammo, when the .22lr is so close to it, yet 1/5 the price. So i was at walmart today and found ..22 Winchest Dynapoint Mag for $7 for 50. Is this stuff ok to shoot in a .22 WMR Mag? I bought a box, and the stuff is dirty looking, the only reason i ask is because the brass case looks to be a little shorter on the dynapoint, but only like 1/4-1/3mm shorter. |

Is it labeled .22WMR? If not it's not WMR and not safe.
Edit: just checked, didn't know they made it. Apparently so, you're good to go. It's a straight case, so a little difference in length isn't a problem. The difference in price has to do with volume and supply/demand rather than components, although the jacketed bullets in WMR are a lot more expensive than swaged lead wire. |

I have always found cheap .22WMR ammo to be inaccurate. CCI is it. I have tried 33gr Reminton ballistic tips, no go. I bought some of the newer flavor 30gr, but have not tried them yet. CCI Maxi mag HP's have always done well out of my A-bolt. $11.50 now. I was able to get a 1-1.5" 10 shot grouping at 100 yards with the CCI polymer tips. But they are the more expensive ones. |

CCI MAXI MAGS. Winchester at one time made a great HP load and a solid. but i bought Maxi Mags by the case. Maxi Mags are great. My Marlin shoots them more accurately than anything else. Winchester Super X isn't too bad either. my marlin 25m was lethal with Maxi's out to 150 on anything. |
