I know there have been several post about these kits already.....all negative. I was looking at them before they came out but decided against them once I saw some of the kits and pictures of them. However I saw one together at a gun store a few days ago and it seemed it was put together nicely. Yes I know its plastic and the flash hider is fake. However the stocks and grips of most AR's are plastic also. I don't plan on using the flash hider anyway. So I did some shopping and decided to order a kit. I will add some more psot next week after its together. Has anybody had any positive results with these???

So I got home last night to find the kit had come in. Took some time to play with it today and then just started to put it together. I already had a 10/22 that I had put a 16" Tac Sol. barrel on and some other minor changes to the receiver to include an "enhanced bolt handle" (don't recall which brand but was not from Volquartsen). This had been done some months ago. All the parts fit together on the 10/22 just fine. Needed no time in the oven(?) or any other work to get the parts to just slide on and together. I did run into two issues/problems. 1st was the "enhanced bolt handle" would not let the top cover sit right. The bolt knob was to thick. This was fixed when I installed the Volquartsen "enhanced bolt handle" which was the org plan anyways. The Volquartsen was out of stock when I had put the reciever together some months ago. I had put in a different one that was ordered by mistake until the Volquartsen came in. Once the Volquartsen bolt handle was in-the top cover went on and the issue was gone. The org bolt handle on the 10/22 would not have any issues but may be a little small. The 2nd issue was I decided to install the extended mag release that came with the kit due to it being a little longer then the one that came with the 10/22. This took the most time because I had issues lining up the holes for the pin. The issue was their part but not sure what it was. Got it in and seems to work fine. All the screws went in the holes and the kit went together in less than a hour. The "fake flash hider" was not part of my plan so I can not say anything about it but it is a "fake flash hider". The gun seems to function just fine. I tried putting several different scopes and "rail toys" on. These went from cheap crap to $200 bipods just to see how stuff would fit on the rails. Everything fit just like it does on my Troy AR rails. I tried 4 diff brands of mags. They all seemed to function the same in any other stock but some were a tight fit at first. They seemed to get easier the more I took them in and out. Only negative thing I have noticed is the front rail is not straight/even with the top rail but its not as bad as it looks in the package.

The things I really like so far is that the gun is very very light weight. I know everybody complains that its plastic but it feels the same as my Glock. I really think of it as a Glock AR-Ruger 10/22 So far I think I really like the way it feels and the low weight. The stock seems to be nicely made and functions the same as some of the Magpuls (no i'm not saying its even close to being equal to a Magpul stock). I have not shot it yet but plan to next week but seems it should shoot the same with this kit as it would if it was in a Hogue stock. Think I'm going to just mount a cheap red dot scope I bought a while ago but never used. I will post pictures tomorrow of what it looks like finished.

Two important notes: 1st-part of the light weight is due to the low weight of the Tac Sol barrel I used. 2nd-this is going to be used basicly as a "toy" that is just something that will be fun to shoot. It is not intended to replace my AR's in any fashion or as a "training" gun. Its just something for some fun plinking.

Please forgive any spelling mistakes I made.

I just put my archangel kit together yesterday. When I say that I am the LEAST mechanically inclined human on planet Earth, Im not kidding. I was able to get it done in less than an hour which means that an 8-year old blind orphan huffing gold spraypaint should be able to do this in about 20 or 30-minutes.

I had been pondering getting the archangel kit after seeing it on the interwebs. It was between that and a GSG5 but I liked the reliability of having a 10/22 base. I saw one put together at a fun show about 3 weeks ago and that was the end of my decision making. Just like West I had no desire to add the fake flash hider. I will add a different barrel at some point probably anyway. So I went out and bought a 10/22 carbine and got the archangel kit.

Yesterday I started taking the 10/22 apart. The mag release gave me fits. Why you ask? Because I suck at things with moving parts thats why. So finally got that switched and the rest took about 10 or 15-minutes. Like West - no heating in the over or anything of the sort and I absolutely love the results. I left the flash hider piece off and the overall look is terrific. The finish feels very strong and durable. This is the perfect tacticool shooter when I want the feel of my AR but without dipping into my 223 ammo stash. Im adding a Walther-PS22 red dot from Midway so that this thing will be almost an exact replica of my AR made by LMT.

The best part is that if the mood strikes me, I can pull the covers off and have this thing back into the original stock in no time - though I wouldnt do that even with a gun at my head. Love my archangel.
