I know that I'm WAY late with this BUT, has anyone found any .22LR for sale locally? WHenever I travel I hit the local wal marts and kmarts, but I'm usually disappointed. But I found and bought 50 - 50 round boxes of Remington High Velocity HP from our local kmart for $2.20 a box. Damn, that same 2500 rounds used to cost me about $40 instead of $115+x....

Yeah.  Haven't seen bulk .22lr ammo at my walmart for a few months now.  If there is anything it's $3-8 a box, only 50 and 100 round boxes, remington subsonics or CCI's.

I ended up having to order a few thousand rounds from Midway (now out of stock).

I picked up 2K in Wichester bulk packs from my local Texas Wally World a couple weeks ago. Price was just under $65, with tax.

Walmarts should get 22 bulk packs in once or twice a week at least.  I've bought about 30 in the last two months, sometimes you have to be there early in the day (for federal), other times winchester 333 $9.95 packs will stay on the shelf for 3 days.

there were 4 boxes of golden bullets at my local WMT. I left them on the shelf, won't run in my semis.

Now that I think of it, a box for my K22 plinker would probably be a good idea. Save the good stuff for the picky guns.

Tried to buy the last brick (10 fifty round boxes) of Federal 22lr my wally world had today. Almost had it, but then he remembered they sell them as fifty round boxes and not as a brick, and would only sell me six. But $1.47 a box wasn't too bad.

My local Wal Mart has put a limit on how many boxes of ammo can be purchased at one time. The limit is 6. The spoting goods manager said that people are hoarding ammo and it wasn't fair to others, so a limit was set. There are only a few boxes of 12 gauge and .17 in the case. But when I travel, I make a point to go to other Wal marts and "check"...sometimes, depending on where you're at, they can be chock full of what you're after.

That is what I love about my Ruger Mark II, so far I have not found anything that it will not eat. If I ever do I will save it for my Model 18.

I like the 510 load. Best 'bulk' aside from Blazer and Dynapoints. I have yet to get a FTF in 2K so far.

Same in middle TN.

picked up about 30 boxes over a two month period around the first of the year.  Now, I just get a box or two at a time when I find it.

problem is, I've shot over half of it already. doh

Local Wal Mart had 3 bricks of Xpert HV for $13.97. Bought it all. That is the last of the 3 cases that they had received a week earlier. There was bulk pack UMC 9mm on the shelf for $24.97. Left it. Went to a the local fun store. Some primers, plenty of powder. Bought a 50 pack of WWB .357 for $16.99. And 500 cast bullets for $15. Drove a couple miles to the next local fun store. They were closing early, but had primers. Bought 1k of Fed Large rifle for $39 and 1K of Fed Small Pistol Magnum for $29. No tax charged in the little stores. Not great prices, but I was looking specifically for those primers, so I bought them. Had I gone to the store with primers first, I would have passed on the .357 ammo.

I've been finding Federal Automatch at the wallys here.  Picked up six 325rnd packs about a week ago.  CCI Minimag seems to be on the shelf almost all the time.  I usually pick up one or two 100 packs every time I'm in, but I usually shoot about 100 rounds of 22 a week so I'm just keeping up the stockpile.  I've got about 16k of 22lr ammo now so I'm not buying anything special.  If I see a deal, I'll grab it.

got lucky as hell, found 4 boxed of .45 winchester FMJ 100 pack at wal-mart last week and grabbed a box, this week i caught 6 CASES of federal bulk .22lr(the 550 HP, not the automatch).  i called 2 friends and they were there in 15 min.  i grabbed 2, they each grabbed 2, and some guy we were talking to grabbed 4.  i doubt the other 5 cases lasted the night.  i am fortunate as our wal-marts have had mini-mags consistently during the "ammo crisis" and still do.  my 10/22 shoots quarter-dime sized groups at 50yd. with these, so at least i can get the ammo my gun prefers.

Just picked up 5 more 550 round bricks last night at Wally world for $72, $13.47 a box.  Think I've got like 13k now in 22lr federal bulk packs.  I'll stop buying and let you guys get some.  You just got to go often to get em.

You guys are lucky. I haven't been able to find any bulk 22lr here. I have about 1300 rounds sitting but that isn't much at all so I don't shoot it. I won't shoot it until I am able to pick up another 4-5k.
I walk into the Bass Pro down the street and go to the ammo isle and its a pitiful sight. There are always about 5-6 guys in there who look like they have lost something. They are bending over and looking at the bottom shelves and pushing the odd hunting calibers out of the way to check behind them. And all of them have the same disappointed look on their face.

Saw some Walmart marked boxes at the Gun Show yesterday...$30 for the 550rnd bulk pack (The exact same one that we can get for $13). Fuck that douche bag. I knew I didn't like him for some reason. He always comes off as a dick everytime I have seen him at the local shows.

My local fun store (15 min from WM) stocks Winchester Xpert HV for $32.95. Same as the $13.47 bricks from WM.

Same fun store got a few Bushies in from Jerry's Sport Center. They priced them at $999.99, which on the hang tag is written "$300 under list NO GOUGING". Too funny. Wonder what is going to be hot next month. If you can afford to wait, then wait. Just when one thing gets better, something else gets worse. Timimg is everything.

I picked up 10 bricks of Fed at WM last week. No sign, no limit anymore

What's tax?? Oh ya, another way to F@ck the people. I buy on line. 500 round Aguila Hyper velocity for $24.00, + $3.00 shipping. Don't tell me your buying Xpert ammo! That stuff sucks!

My local Wal-Mart had nothing that I wanted nor any bulk packs. I usually shoot CCI standard velocity or subsonic since they're nice and quiet, but in the past I have always ordered them online. As of yesterday afternoon I haven't found any online either. Local hunting/gun store has always had crack-smoking prices even before the panic, so I haven't even bothered to check there. I did buy a RCBS shell holder there the other day because I had to have it. They had a few large pistol primers in stock @ $5.00 per 100. I laughed and put them back on the shelf.

screw that!  people like that make me sick.  some douche on gunbroker was selling the winchester .45 fmj 100 pack 3 for $270!  $90 a box!  i promptly sent him a message informing him that he was indeed a douche, that i had nominated him for this year's BDIU award(south park fans know what i'm talking about ), and that i hoped that while he slept all 300 rounds went off promptly inside his asshole.

Found some at Walmart and bought it up. It's reliable but I'll be damned if it's not the dirtiest 22 ammo I've ever shot. Accuracy is mediocre too. But hey –– if all you need is something to blast with, then by all means go for it. I've had no problems with feeding or anything with this ammo.

Over the last 2 months I've picked up 9- 325rd. boxes of Federal automatch (From Walmart for $15 a box and haven't seen anymore since), 4- 400rd. boxes of federal american eagle ( From a local fun store for 74.99 + tax), 2- 500 rd boxes for federal champion 510's( From gander mountain for $20 a brick), and a Brick of Wolf match target (Delivered to my door for $53). Gander mountain had tons of .22 when i was there last night. They Had Fed. 510's for $20 per 500, Winchester 333's for $15, Bulk packs of Remington golden bullets for $25     ( What a joke).

I want to find more CCI Minimag or equivilent to add to my 22 LR inventory.  I've found it to work very well in every 22LR weapon I have, esp in the semi-auto pistols and rifles.  Ideally I'd like to buy a case.  Anyone know of a place to get some?  or an alternative product (ie. higher velocity 22lr)?
