My Wasr22 doesn't like soft lead but eats up some old Western superX copper coated bullets I have like it's going out of style.  I have a nice supply of this vintage ammo and its quite a shame to shoot it but the fact is that I have well over 25 bricks of it that someone gave me years ago. I'm not up to date on current 22LR ammo, do any manufactures make copper coated bullets?

Walmart carries the Remington Golden bullet. also the Federal Value packs and CCI Mini Mags (that's if you can find them in stock) both are coated.  Not like a full metal jacket but I think it is better than just a bare lead bullet.
I like all 3 mentioned.   Some don't.      I'm sure there are others out there , I just know of those I mentioned.
Just my humble opinion.

Don't waste your money on Remington Golden Bullets. They're dirty, inaccurate, and reliability is mediocre at best. The CCI Mini-Mags are very good, as are the American Eagle 38gr hollowpoint bulk packs.

Winchester Dynapoint.

Has the added benefit of being subsonic.

How cute, what google didn't tell me is what people preferred like the three other gentlemen have.  I will try the mentioned ammo, thanks for the replies.  McM

Wal-mart also has a winchester 333  36gr copper washed hp .22 for 9.97 (333 rounds).  I have 1 box for "testing", but I like the fed 550 best.  (36gr hp copper washed 55rd, for 13.47)

Not the cleanest, but they are about the only thing that runs like a raped ape in my NFA autos.

Also run a dirty 10/22 and Wasr22 very well.
