any one have one and like it. i just got one in a trade and was wonder yalls thoughts on them. barry |
I’m going to test this this weekend if it doesn’t rain. 10/22 with a 10 round mag and my Taurus M62 with 10 rounds in the tube. Ill comment back on the results maybe even with a video. |

Alright I tested several times to see which is faster my Taurus pump vs. my 10/22 and it turns out they are about the same, but from what the editing software shows for the audio the pump was slightly faster by like 4 hundredths of a second, Now next weekend I’m going to test it against my GSG-5 and maybe my mark III. I know my GSG-5 is faster than my 10/22. Video to come Maybe… |
I had a Rossi in the youth model when a a kid, I had a blast with that rifle. Times got hard and I had to sell it. I have regretted it ever since. Rossi was bought out by Taurus so they are basically the same gun. But you don't see or here of the Rossi's much anymore. |
I'd like to see that. I just can't imagine a pump being faster. I would think the results would be better with more rounds. Can't thise tube feds hold more than 10? |
I like to play "Jingle Bells" with a steel plate and my GSG-5. I can get two verses out of a mag. |
My dad has a 1941 Savage model 29a pump 22. literally 10k+ rounds through it. When I got to take it out by myself (30 yrs ago) I can remember filling the tube shooting as fast as I could and reloading <–––– repeating as nessesary. We just found some extractors and she's as good as new. Accurate too, dad can still out shoot me when we both use that gun...
So, if you can find one, you'll probably pay a pretty penny for it. Coop |

Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster .22 Pump
This was my very first firearm. I purchased when I turned 18. The dealer, Ted Beck of the now closed Beck's Sporting Goods on Rising Sun Ave. in Phila., PA sold it to me used with a Weaver 4x scope for like $125- handed me a FREE box of bullets after the paperwork and said "here ya go, have fun". I will never forget how good I felt. The gun is fun for plinking and to take down those dangerous "tree rats." Rifle takes short, long and long rifle ammo. Never a problem. I will never got rid of this gun. |

I have a pair (brace?) of Winchester 62A rifles and a vintage Model 12 Remington.
Pump .22s are the single greatest intro to firearms you can give a new shooter in HISTORY. Take a new shooter and set them loose with .22 shorts or longs on a pack of savage tin cans. Oh the HUMANITY. My Winchester 62A is my favorite firearm hands down. One interesting note about the original Winchesters is they did not have a disconnector on them. Simply keep the trigger pulled and pump as fast as you can. The Rossi and Taurus remakes I think have disconnectors in them. Not a big deal, but a small difference. I have shot a new Taurus and it did rather well for itself. My Winchester pump .22s are true family heirlooms. They are worth the money! |
| I have an old Savage 29 love it super quiet with Remington Subsonics. I have missed a couple deals on Remingtons next one I come across I will get. The semi's are fun but the pumps for some reason seem a little more, its one of those guns everyone smiles when their done shooting it. |

I don't know about the Taurus, but unless they changed components, the Rossi pump has no disconnector-at least the rifle a friend of mine has doesn't-functions just like the Winchester they're trying to copy. Great rifle, but I'm holding out for an authentic Winchester. Problem is, the Winchesters worth buying have gone so high in price that everybody who has a good one is keeping it. |
