Cool read huh, I stumbled on it a while ago and linked it on RFC.

Makes one rethink the capibility of a 22lr

Awesome read.  Thank you very much for posting that.  I'm a huge 22LR fan, do 90% of my shooting with 22LR and consider 22LR my most important outdoor/preparedness/survival caliber so this is very interesting and reassuring in ways.

I figured everyone knew 22lr was great for killing things. It's just not very good at dropping them. Yes you can kill a deer wit a 22 but in the 6-20 minutes it takes to die from internal bleeding it will be long gone and you are likely to never find it back, which is just wrong. Sure it will kill an assailant who doesn't receive emergency care quickly, but it won't stop them from shooting you back or even stabbing you to death.

I can see a sniper using 22lr for a known target at a known distance, but for "law enforcement" or any serious military work where an assured kill is imperative I don't see anyone using it. 22 is cheap and quiet. Those are its only attributes.
