Looks great, how is the actual design did UTG produce some thing durable and cheap, or just cheap?  I am anxious to see what the folks at RFC have to say about you new toy...

I put one on mine last week. They are very sturdy and look like they will hold up fine.
The only issue will be what stock you are using. I'm running a hogue overmold and the bottom clamping portion with the short (3" or so) rail won't fit around it, but no biggie.
I'll try to get pics sometime this week

It's pretty damn tough. I wanted to keep my Tech Sights so I cut about 1" off the top rail. Took me 20 minutes with a hacksaw. I didn't have any trouble mounting mine on the BC folder. I left the "spacer" out og the front so my barrel would be more free float.
The lower rail is not as long as it looks in the picture. I already had a rail on the bottom for my vert grip.

Here's mine w/a stock 10/22 barrel, Hogue overmolded stock, Harris brs, NcStar short 3x9 red/green mildot.

Lower rail portion shown that comes with the rail kit, but won't fit with the Hogue stock.

Looks interesting, does that top part of the rail system screw into the top of the receiver like  a normal rail/scope mount?  If not I would possibly question the stability for mounting optics  to it.  Looks gorgeous though, where did you guys buy from?  Thanks

+1

Would like to know also which rail system is that.

Top part od the rail system uses the reciever rail holes to attach. Seems pretty sturdy. I cut about 1" off mine for the Tech Sights. That left one hole to attach the rail to the reciever. I contacted UTG and suggested they cut the sight channel a little deeper for better sight picture using stock sights.

New rail system from UTG for 10/22.

Shown above on my 10/22 w/stock barrel, Hogue overmolded stock, Harris BRS bipod, NcStar compact 3x9 red/green mildot.

Lower portion/rail shown fits with factory wood stock and some of the other plastic stocks. Won't fit w/Hogue.

It attaches using all the 4 factory top receiver screw locations, and comes with a few different spacers for the tip to clamp the lower rail and the upper rail around your stock. In my setup shown, I'm not using any at the tip and it still feels very sturdy and very usable.

Only downside I don't like about it: the cut out for the rear sight. IMHO it would have flowed much better without it, esp since you can't use the rear sight anyway with this mounted.

Street price should be around $70-75

I am a dealer so I got it from me... ;)

Anybody tried one of these with the Tapco T6 stock?
1/11/2008 2:43:58 AM EDT
[#18]
I just ordered one.

This is the M1A SOCOM II

This is the UTG on a standard stock

I will try and make a SOCOM II look alike.  That barrel sticking way out is the only downer.

I am going to use the standard 10/22 wood stock. I have a pretty good airsoft Aimpoint clone.  I have a standard 10/22 barrel that has had the sights removed and is threaded 1/2x28 so I will put a good looking break/fs on it  And when all put together I am going to do this paint job on it. www.mjohn3006.com/Painting_AR.html

Should look pretty nice.  I'll keep you posted.

The UTG rail only has a 6 rail lower. How did you get a full lenght lower rail?

Looks to me that the bottom rail in that pic may actually be affixed to the bottom of the stock.  Notice how it is angling upward.  Not positive but thats what it looks like to me.  I did something similar to the side of my BC sidefolder...  works very well.

I just got mine today and it looks and fits even better than I expected. The only downside like FlatlinesUp mentioned is that the bottom piece doesn't fit with the Hogue stock but it is fine otherwise. It is VERY sturdy even though there is only four tiny screws holding it on. Another thing I don't think anyone mentioned is that it even came with rail covers.

I paid $47 for mine after tax and it was worth every penny. (opticsplanet has them for $34 + free shipping but they're out of stock and I didn't want to wait).

Yeah.  I think I will want two of them.  So I told Optics planet to go ahead and send me one when they get it, and got one $35+10 shipping off ebay.

You are right. I already had a short rail from an AR that I mounted under it before I put the UTG on. I don't use the Eotech on the 10/22. Just put it on for pictures. The Eotech rides on my 11.5 entry AR.

Anyone know if that will work with the Tapco T6 stock???

Well I got it.  Very nice!

I put it on and it fits nicely.  Here is what I am thinking.  Although I may go for a different optic, or maybe just a different mount.  That is a Tac Point red dot and a Airsoft Classic Army mount that has worked on real guns with no problems, and would work fine on the 22, but I am not sure if I want to use a different optic.

The break is a YHM.  It makes a .22 sound like a .308 and it looks mean.

Looks weird the cross of metal rails and wood. I am going to paint this whole thing like this: www.mjohn3006.com/Painting_AR.html

Should look nice when it looks uniform.
The pictures suck. It looks much better in person.

I have this rail system on order as of last night.  I'm also going to mount it on a BC folder. Is the bottom rail too far forward for a foregrip to be used comfortably?

Great looking rifle.

I agree.  I think I'll have to add another rail.
